- Copy editing focuses on grammar, punctuation, and format consistency.
- Line and copy editing are ideal for writers who have completed several drafts of their work and are ready to polish it before proofreading and publishing.
- Alpha readers review a manuscript that is unfinished or unrevised.
- Beta readers review a manuscript that has undergone at least one revision.
- An alpha or beta read is ideal for authors with specific questions about their manuscripts.

Holly Lynn Literary will never knowingly input any of your original work into generative or editing Artificial Intelligence (AI) platforms. Any editing advice you receive will draw from our training and experience alone. Your work is your own, and will remain your own, while in our care.

Holly Lynn (she/her) is an editor who specializes in refining stories – be they personal or professional. She has spent nearly a decade in writing, editing, and analysis roles in the public sector. An ardent supporter of women writers, she lives in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, surrounded by vintage Agatha Christie and Jane Austen novels.
She is the right editor for you if:

- Or you have short non-fiction needs, such as line or copy editing for blog posts, articles, or website content.
- You’re a fan of the oxford comma.
- You’re ready to receive constructive feedback. If you finished your manuscript less than a week ago, put it in a folder on your desktop and walk away. Come back in a month.
*Excluding hard, first contact, or space-related science fiction. Projects with dystopian, time-travel, or soft science fiction elements will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Justin Carter (he/him) is the operations advisor. He brings his experience as a former small business owner to support external engagement efforts. He is based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, where he enjoys hiking and reading in the sparse sunshine.
